Tasty Tuesday: Easy BBQ Chicken

Y'all know that I'm the queen of chicken recipes and especially easy ones, so today I'm sharing yet another oldie but goodie. I have no idea where this recipe originated from...my mom had it on a piece of paper (she made this dish when we were growing up) and I photocopied it. It's a go-to recipe in our house for sure. I serve it with rice or potatoes so that whatever carb you choose can soak up the delicious sauce (does that make me sound like a fatty or what?!).

Cut the onions into rings and place on the bottom of your dish.
After you have made your sauce, put your chicken on top of the onions and then pour the sauce over.
This is what your final dish looks like!

Ingredients
1 garlic clove minced
2 tablespoons of butter
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3 chicken breasts (or whatever kind of chicken you'd like to use)
3 small onions, sliced into rings

Heat oven to 375. In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook garlic in butter for about 1 minute (until tender). Stir in ketchup, water, brown sugar, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Arrange chicken pieces in a 12x8 inch baking dish. Place onion rings on the bottom of the dish and place chicken on top. Pour the sauce over the chicken.

Bake for 1 hour, until chicken is fully cooked and juices run clear.

Xo,
